Greater Accra relies on only two major landfill facilities and faces an acute shortage as the Kpone landfill is expected to shut down within the next six months after reaching full capacity, according to the Managing Director of Waste Landfills Company Ltd. The alternative 120-acre Adepa landfill, located beyond Nsawam, presents operational challenges due to its distance from Accra.
