    Nana Kyei Emmanuel, a 24-year-old driver, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Bekwai Circuit Court for stabbing and robbing a 22-year-old woman at Esereso in the Ashanti Region on June 14, 2026. He was found guilty of causing harm and robbery after stabbing the victim in the ribs and stealing her iPhone 11 Pro Max valued at GH¢2,600.

    Twelve suspected illegal miners were remanded into police custody after being arrested during a two-day Forestry Commission operation against illegal mining in the Bosomtwe Range Forest Reserve in the Ashanti Region.     The Bekwai Forest District of the Forestry Commission arrested twelve suspected illegal miners following a two-day operation in the Bosomtwe Range Forest Reserve in the Ashanti Region, seizing an excavator, multiple pumping machines, and power equipment.
