  1. PURC advises utility consumers to pay arrears via instalment plans

    The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in the Ashanti Region has advised electricity and water consumers that they may settle accumulated utility bills through agreed instalment payment plans under Regulation 31 of the PURC (Consumer Service) Regulations, 2020. The provision applies when utilities fail to issue bills for more than three months before demanding payment, or when they discover undercharging and seek recovery; if consumers and providers cannot agree on a plan, either party may refer the matter to PURC for resolution.
