IMF flags political control of state enterprise boards
The IMF has raised concerns about the politicisation of boards and chief executive appointments at Ghana's State-Owned Enterprises, saying boards of major SOEs are largely dominated by political appointees, with board chairs frequently being ministers, MPs, or prominent party officials, which the IMF says departs significantly from OECD guidelines that caution against active politicians serving on SOE boards.
