The initiative aims to strengthen data quality and reliability to guide policy decisions and measure progress towards ending HIV as a public health threat by 2030.

Zoomlion Ghana Limited has begun a disinfestation and fumigation exercise across all 33 Municipal and District Assemblies in the Eastern Region following recent floods, targeting markets, lorry parks, public toilets and refuse container sites to control disease vectors and reduce the risk of cholera, malaria, typhoid and other infections. The exercise, running from August 21 to September 30, is being carried out by Zoomlion's Vector Control Unit in collaboration with the assemblies as part of the company's corporate social responsibility programme.

The Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong has found Rev. Fr. Samuel Adapore, whose indefinite suspension had raised questions about his whereabouts, at the Police Training Centre in Koforidua. The Diocese says Adapore chose of his own volition to enlist as a private person into the training programme to join the Ghana Police Service.

A 47-year-old woman, Akua Abrokwaa, has been arrested by police at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region for allegedly burying her newborn grandchild alive at Akoroso near Koforidua shortly after the child's birth on Sunday. The baby was exhumed and both the suspect and her daughter are in police custody assisting with investigations.
