Parliament recalled for minister vetting, caucus changes, LGBTQ bill

The News

Speaker Alban Bagbin has recalled Parliament from recess for a five-day sitting beginning Monday, August 24, to consider urgent government business including the vetting of newly appointed ministers, changes in Majority caucus leadership, and reconsideration of the anti-LGBTQ+ bill. The Minority caucus has questioned the need for the recall, arguing the matters are neither urgent nor significant enough to warrant reconvening during recess.
