The MP for La Dade-Kotopon said government was unaware of the exercise, and residents reported the two-week notice period was inadequate, resulting in loss of properties and livelihoods.

National Security, Armed Forces and Police personnel raided the Nawara Mining Company office in Nsuapemso on October 1, 2026, to arrest the Managing Director, Accountant and other staff, with two people injured during the operation. The raid is linked to a dispute over control of the mining concession between Nawara Mining Company and CMS & A&A PRO Mining Company, which is said to be managing the revoked Nawara concession.

Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe clarified that Friday's demolition of structures along the beachfront near Labadi Beach Hotel was carried out at the hotel's request under National Security supervision, not as part of the government's flood mitigation exercise. The hotel requested the operation, saying the structures including Polo Beach Club were affecting its safety, tranquillity, reputation and visitor experience.
