Torrential rains destroy rice farms in Weta community
More than 200 acres of cultivated rice fields in the Weta Rice Farming Community, one of Ghana's largest rice-producing areas, have been submerged and destroyed by torrential rains, affecting over 1,024 households and an estimated 5,000 people. Roads, access paths, and warehouses have also been severely damaged, threatening the livelihoods and food security of hundreds of smallholder farmers.
