GPRTU opposes vehicle auctions after 21-day holding period
The Ghana Private Road Transport Union is calling for a review of a provision in the Road Traffic Regulations 2026 that allows authorities to auction broken-down vehicles left at designated holding areas for 21 days. The union supports immediate removal of broken-down vehicles from roads but argues owners should be allowed to reclaim their vehicles after paying towing and storage fees, rather than having them auctioned.
