Ghana marks 200-year anniversary of Battle of Katamanso
Professor Nii Odoi Yemoh has called on Ghanaians to remember the Battle of Katamanso (also known as the Battle of Dodowa), fought on August 7, 1826, which brought together the Asante Empire against a coalition of coastal states including the Ga-Adangbe, Fante, Akuapem, Denkyira, Wassa, Ningo, Krobo, and Ada, transforming the political landscape of the then Gold Coast and influencing the course of Ghana's history.
