    A pastor has been remanded by Dansoman Circuit Court for allegedly defrauding more than 80 people of GH¢1.56 million by claiming he could secure their recruitment into Ghana's security services through protocol slots from senior government officials. The accused told victims he had access to positions in the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Immigration Service, and Ghana National Fire Service.

  2. Man sentenced to four years for boutique theft in Accra

    A 27-year-old unemployed man, Mutaru Mohammed, has been sentenced to four years' imprisonment by the Dansoman Circuit Court for stealing clothing valued at GH¢100,000 from a boutique in Accra on August 15, 2026. The items included bed sheets, children's pyjamas, underwear, corsets and nightwear; he pleaded guilty and the court also convicted him on a conspiracy charge, with an accomplice currently at large.

    Former Ghanaian boxer Michael Ayitey Okai, known as Ayitey Powers, has been released after the Dansoman Circuit Court discontinued a case against him over an alleged death threat directed at National Sports Authority Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah. Powers was arrested on August 24 following circulation of a social media video in which he allegedly threatened Ankrah's life, but the court's discontinuation of the case has ended the legal proceedings.
