A serious road crash involving a passenger bus, articulated truck, and sedan has completely blocked both lanes of the N6 Highway at Birimso Bridge, bringing traffic to a standstill. Police from the Eastern South Regional MTTD are managing the scene and have implemented temporary traffic diversions.

The National Petroleum Authority CEO explained that Ghana's fuel prices increased despite falling global crude oil prices because refined petroleum products became more expensive during the recent conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. He noted that diesel prices rose from about $794 to $1,340 per metric tonne and cited the international price of refined products, exchange rate, and taxes and margins as the three factors determining Ghana's fuel pricing.

Ghana's Ministry of Education clarified that French, Arabic and Chinese will remain optional subjects in the revised basic school curriculum. The Ministry said Ghanaian languages will be the main medium of instruction from Kindergarten to Primary Three, with English and Ghanaian languages both used from Primary Four to Primary Six, based on internationally accepted practices.

Ghana's total trade value rose 20.1 per cent to GH¢654.7 billion in 2025, with exports of GH¢401.5 billion exceeding imports of GH¢253.2 billion, generating a trade surplus of GH¢148.3 billion—more than three times the previous year's GH¢44.7 billion. Gold accounted for nearly 63 per cent of exports at GH¢252.4 billion, while cocoa and mineral fuels contributed GH¢56.2 billion and GH¢35.3 billion respectively, together making up almost 86 per cent of total exports.

President Mahama inaugurated Tema Oil Refinery's refurbished Crude Distillation Unit and other restored facilities, declaring the refinery restored to operational capacity. The government has directed development of a strategic plan to expand TOR's capacity from 40,000 barrels per day to 100,000 barrels per day, positioning it as a driver of Ghana's industrial development.
