NBA fines Clippers record $30m for salary-cap violations
The Los Angeles Clippers have been hit with a record $30 million fine by the NBA following an investigation into salary-cap rule violations connected to endorsement and off-court income opportunities for star player Kawhi Leonard. The punishment includes forfeiture of five first-round draft picks between 2029 and 2033, a 12-month suspension of owner Steve Ballmer from all NBA activities, and a one-year suspension without pay for team president Gillian Zucker.
