Professor Denis Worlanyo Aheto was inducted as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast for a four-year term. UCC Chancellor Sir Sam Jonah called for African universities to prioritize practical problem-solving and hands-on skills over rote learning, proposing a faculty of vocational education combining academic rigour with skills in agriculture, coastal enterprise, construction, food systems, creative industries and human-AI collaboration.

The University of Cape Coast has formally inducted Professor Denis Worlanyo Aheto as its 12th Vice-Chancellor and charged him with repositioning the institution as a hub for practical and skills-based learning. The University's Chancellor proposed that UCC become the first in Africa to establish a full faculty of degree-awarding vocational education with Applied Skills Bachelor and Master degrees.
